Gunmen on motorcycles attacked demonstrators in Yemen Wednesday, killing one person and injuring several others.

Opposition activist Radwan al-Obisi said the protesters in the port city of Hodeida were demanding the removal of longtime President Ali Abdullah Saleh.

In a separate incident, AFP also reported a policeman was shot dead and three others were wounded by protesters in Aden, Yemen's main southern port city.

More than 120 people have been killed since anti-government demonstrations began two months ago in the country.

A local affiliate of al Qaeda has taken advantage of the chaos to set up shop in remote parts of Yemen.
