An Operation Blessing International agriculture project is designed to help feed Haitian children.
The Virginia Beach, Va.-based charity aid organization teamed with Partners in Health to build two ponds on the property of a childrens' home.
About 25,000 tilapia will be raised in each of the ponds. When mature, the fish will be harvested to feed thousands of people.
It will be a source of protein for the children at the home as well as nearby hospitals, churches, schools and other orphanages.
The project also creates more jobs for the Haitians. Workers will be need to feed the fish, clean the ponds, clean the fish and prepare them for market.
