Operation Blessing International is using a community farm to help hungry families in the African nation of Niger.
The country is suffering from a severe famine. To exacerbate the situation, this year's rainy season did not produce many crops. Operation Blessing turned a large plot of land into a training facility and gardens. More than 300 local women use the land to plant their seedlings. Once they have grown, the plants are transported to their own farms where they continue to grow and are then harvested. Operation Blessing teams also built a food bank where villagers can sell their grain and buy it back at a low cost during times of drought or famine.
Find out how you can help Operation Blessing International meet the needs the people of Niger and others around the world.
