The Taliban has claimed responsibility for an attack in Afghanistan that killed three NATO service members.
The three were killed Tuesday by a roadside bomb in the Paktiya province, located about 60 miles south of Kabul.
NATO hasn't yet released the nationalities of the dead. However, the Taliban said it was targeting a U.S. military convoy.
The latest casualties brings December's toll of foreign troops killed in Afghanistan to 23 for a total of 539 deaths so far this year.
More than 700 troops died in Afghanistan in 2010.
