Al Qaeda is close to producing radioactive weapons after getting nuclear material and recruiting rogue scientists to build "dirty bombs," according to information that the website WikiLeaks passed on to the London Telegraph.

One leading atomic regulator has warned of a "nuclear 9/11."

A dirty bomb could contaminate a targeted area, such as a city, for many years.

The report said jihadist groups are also close to making biological and chemical weapons that could kill thousands.
