An off-duty police officer opened fire on a train in Egypt, Tuesday, killing a 71-year old Christian man, and wounding five other Christians.
Most of those wounded were women, the Interior Ministry said in a statement.
The attack sparked new demonstrations in southern Egypt, as Coptic Christians continue to fight persecution.
No motive was immediately given for the attack.
Tuesday's shooting came less than two weeks after a suicide bomber killed 21 Christians outside of a church in the Mediterranean city of Alexandria.
