Islamic activists in Bangladesh clashed with police Sunday over changes to the country's constitution that made the nation a secular state.
Authorities say at least 70 people, including 10 police officers, were injured in the 30-hour melee.
A coalition of 12 Islamic parties called for the demonstrations after the phrase "absolute faith and trust in Allah" was removed from the document's preamble.
Islam will continue to be state religion but secularism was added as a state principle.
