Heavy rains have brought on massive flooding in China.

Crews had to rescue dozens of people Tuesday from a bridge in Yingxiu county that collapsed under the force of powerful flood waters.

A cable was rigged over the river to pull people to safety one by one.

Later, a large crane was used to bring people to safety after several started refusing to use the cable for fear of falling off.

Mudslides and flooding have cut off several major highways in southwest China.

Yingxiu county was the epicentre of a massive earthquake two years ago which claimed almost 80,000 lives.
