The U.S. women's soccer team has made it to the World Cup finals after beating France 3-1 in this week's semi-finals.
Going into the tournament the women were jokingly referred to as the best team that no one had ever heard of -- but now the world is watching and many say this is their time.
"At this point it's about who wants it more. I don't care what the stats are of the two teams in histories past because its a World Cup final," said Abby Wambach, forward for the U.S. Women's National team.
"This is what we've all been dreaming about since we were little kids," she continued. "It's our time and I'm just excited to have the opportunity to become a world champ."
The U.S. women are ranked as the number one team in the world.
The women will play Japan in the championship game Sunday, July 17 at 2 p.m. ET.
