Rescue teams recently pulled a small boy and his grandmother from their destroyed home and reunited them with their family.
One mother waited 24 hours, choking back tears to find out if her little girl had survived. Eventually, her child was carried through floodwater and placed in her arms.

"I don't know how many hours it's been," the mother said. "[I'm] just glad to hold her in her arms."
Another quake survivor was separated from her elderly mom and rushed to a nearby shelter in desperation.
Camera crews followed her as she searched room after room asking, "Have you seen my mom?"
Miraculously, the woman's search ended with another happy embrace.
