A Christian house church leader has been freed from a Chinese prison nearly three years after his initial arrest.
China Aid confirmed this week that Christian publisher Shi Weihan was released Feb. 9, 2011.
He was arrested November 28, 2007after distributing Bibles and other Christian literature in China. Authorities convicted and imprisoned him for conducting an "illegal business operation."
Weihan was released with no charges on January 4, 2008, but arrested again two months later. In June 2009, he was sentenced to three years of imprisonment and was fined 150,000 yuan.
Weihan is now at home with his wife and two children, but government agents are closely monitoring his activities.
China Aid said he is "in a stable condition both mentally and physically."
