President Obama is attending the East Asia summit in Bali as part of a mission to bring American allies closer together to counter the rising power of China in the region.
On Thursday, he announced trade deals worth more than $25 million that include the following:
- Selling Boeing 737s and General Electric engines to Indonesia
- Selling Boeing 777s to Singapore
- Selling Sikorsky helicopters to Brunei
On Wednesday, the president unveiled a new military agreement that will allow more U.S. military aircraft in Australia and a rotating presence of about 2,500 Marines.
Obama said the new agreement will strengthen security throughout the region.
