Mexican authorities are evacuating fishing communities on the Yucatan Peninsula as Hurricane Rina bears down on the Caribbean coast.

The Category 2 storm is expected to hit the resort island of Cozumel Wednesday night and then roll up the coast to Cancun.

Tourists and residents in Cancun stocked up on supplies Tuesday, hoping to be ready for whatever comes.

Images from the International Space Station show the storm packing 110 mph winds, which are expected to strengthen before the hurricane makes landfall.

Cruise ships and tourists are already evacuating the area though forecasters can't know for sure if Rina will become a Category 3 storm or if she will fizzle to a tropical storm.

Rina is the sixth Atlantic hurricane so far this year.
