Officials in Sweden are trying to terminate the parental rights of a 9-year-old homeschooled boy.
Two years ago, authorities took the then 7-year-old Dominic Johansson away from his parents because he was homeschooled.
He has spent the last two years in foster care and the family has been denied almost all contact with Johansson.
Now, the Swedish government wants to make the arrangement permanent, according to the Christian Newswire.
Both the Home School Legal Defense and the Alliance Defense Fund are representing the Johansson family.
"The government shouldn't abduct and imprison children simply because it doesn't like homeschooling," the ADF said in a statement released Wednesday bout the case. "Now the state is going even further by attempting to get the parents out of the way altogether."
