The president of Open Doors USA is speaking out against the lack of religious freedom in Afghanistan.
Rev. Carl Moeller says he doubts Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will address the issue during her visit to the country that began on Wednesday.
A recent U.S. State Department report detailed the ongoing persecution of Christians and other religious minorities in the Muslim country.
The report revealed that Muslims that convert to Christianity face severe persecution.
On Thursday, Moeller is scheduled to present his concerns about Afghanistan to Suzan Johnson Cook, the U.S. ambassador-at-large for international religious freedom.
Moeller says the U.S. has spent billions of dollars and lost more than a thousand lives propping up a regime that denies religious liberty.
