Iran's state news agency claims the Islamic Republic is producing intelligent laser-guided artillery shells.
The report suggests the shells are capable of hitting moving targets with high accuracy.
Iran's Defense Minister Gen. Ahmad Vahidi said the weapon is also intelligent and can identify its own target.
The report was accompanied by footage showing an artillery piece firing a shell, followed by an explosion in the desert.
It's not clear if the report is true, because Iran has a record of announcing production and testing of military equipment.
Since 1992, the country's military has tried to make it self-sufficient in the production of modern weapons.
