Iranian Army Ground Force Commander Brig.-Gen. Ahmad Reza Pourdasta said the U.S. and its allies are "fearful" of Iranian forces and "would not dare launch an attack on the Islamic Republic," Press TV reported.
He said despite America's advanced military, fears of an Iranian retaliation prevent the U.S. from any kind of attack.
The U.S. and European nations have recently increased pressure on Iran over the country's nuclear program.
Monday, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta warned that the Islamic Republic is only one year away from producing a nuclear weapon and the U.S. "will take whatever steps necessary" to stop it.
