Fifty-eight people died in coordinated attacks against Christian villages in Nigeria this weekend.
The assailants launched "sophisticated attacks" on 13 villages near the city of Jos in Plateau State early Saturday.
More than 300 people have been displaced in the fighting between the militants and police and army units.
Plateau State has been the site of religious and ethnic violence for years.
Boko Haram, an Islamic terrorist group, also has targeted Christians in northern Nigeria in recent years.
