People gathered around the world on Thursday to celebrate World Water Day, created to draw attention to the importance of fresh water to sustain life.

CBN's Operation Blessing International is working to save lives by providing clean drinking water for people worldwide.

Last month in India alone, OB teams drilled 28 clean water wells.

Based in Virginia Beach, Va., the humanitarian aid organization also provides water purification systems.

It is estimated that the water and sanitation crisis worldwide claims more lives each year than all forms of violence, including war.
