As the conflict between Israel and Gaza continues to play out, the terrorist organization Hamas is making a lot of headlines.
The State Department and the Obama administration both recognize the organization as a terrorist group.
But in an opinion piece for Fox News, Dan Gainor, with the Media Research Center, points out that designation doesn't often carry over in the mainstream media.
Gainor says that this year, in more than 60 percent of news coverage on the major three networks, the word "terrorist" is replaced with militant.
He also says putting Hamas, a terrorist group, and Israel, the only truly democratic nation in the Middle East, in the same category while reporting shows the networks are missing the mark in their reporting.
