A Pakistani imam now faces blasphemy charges for setting up a learning disabled teen.
Imam Khalid Chishti is accused of planting pages of the Koran in a bag containing burned papers carried by the girl to make it look like she had burned Islam's holy book.
The cleric was arrested late Saturday night after his deputy and two other men told a magistrate he had planted the pages in her bag.
"I have not done anything wrong, this is a fabrication," he told reporters as he was led to court, blindfolded, and shackled.
The 14-year-old girl, who is believed to have Down syndrome, is still in maximum security prison after a court extended her detention. She could face life in prison if convicted of desecrating the Koran.
Her attorney said Chishti's arrest proves his client's innocence, and he will ask the court to dismiss the charges at her bail hearing on Monday.
Chishti allegedly told witnesses it was a way to "get rid of Christians."
