Group Says Beware of Boston Tragedy Aid Hoaxes

Watchdog groups are warning those eager to help victims of the Boston Marathon tragedy to beware of scam artists pretending to be charities.
Such hoaxes tend to pop up in the aftermath of natural disasters and other catastrophic events.
In one case, a fake photo circulating on the Web shows a young girl running. The caption says she died in the race while running for victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre.
The group Charity Navigator recommends giving only to established charities and avoiding telemarketers.
