Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., is calling for the White House to take action against Syria.
The Obama administration has revealed that Syria's government used chemical weapons on its own people at least twice.
McCain is now calling for America to respond with a no-fly zone and a push to secure weapons and keep them out of hands of jihadis.
After a briefing from Secretary of State John Kerry, McCain told resporters, "We have to have operational capability to secure these chemical weapon stocks. We do not want them to fall into the wrong hands, and the wrong hands are a number of participants in the struggle that's taking place in Syria.
Democratic Sen. Dick Durbin of Illinois also says "something has to be done."
