North Korea's Dictator Orders Uncle's Execution

Ad Feedback

North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un ordered the execution his own uncle, state officials said.

Pyongyang released a statement calling Jang Song Thaek a "traitor," ''worse than a dog," and "despicable human scum."

The country alleges he was planning a military coup to challenge his nephew's power.

Jang was considered the country's second in command and he had been guiding the young leader following his father's death in 2011.

Just days ago, North Korea also accused Jang of corruption, womanizing, gambling, and taking drugs.
