While Operation Blessing teams deployed to Moore, Okla. following last week's devastating tornado, halfway around the world their teams helped repair a West African orphanage.
Mother Edith started the orphanage with only one child she found on the side of the road.
Today she cares for nearly 100 children, many of them orphaned by war, poverty and disease.
Operation Blessing teams helped repair and reinforce the mud brick walls of the orphanage with concrete. They also painted the interior and exterior of the building, put in new floors and replaced the roof.
Now the children have a sturdier, cleaner and brighter environment they call home.
Mother Edith told the Operation Blessing staff their work has filled her heart with joy.
