Ad Feedback

The head of Egypt's powerful interior ministry has survived an assasination attempt.

Mohammad Ibrahim's convoy came under attack when a nearby car exploded, reportedly set off by remote control.

Ibrahim was driving through Cairo's Nasr district when the bomb went off. The area is a well-known Muslim Brotherhood stronghold and site of a major police crackdown on Brotherhood supporters.

No one yet has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Ibrahim is in charge of Egypt's police force.
