UN: 6.6 Million Children Under 5 Died in 2012

A UNICEF report says approximately 6.6 million children under the age of 5 are thought to have died last year around the world.

The U.N. agency says the highest death rates are in Africa and Asia.

Nearly half the child deaths are in five countries: Nigeria, Congo, India, Pakistan, and China.

The top causes of death are pneumonia, diarrhea and malaria.
