Seventeen suspected Ebola carriers fled quarantine when an angry mob attacked and looted a health center in West Point, Liberia.

Information Minister Lewis Brown said police had to stand down because they were worried about infection.

"They got a supply of protective equipment yesterday and my expectation is that they will redeploy today," Brown said.

Ebola has no cure and the only way to contain the disease is by isolating the sick.

The World Health Organization says countries dealing with the outbreak should begin exit screening all travelers at airports, sea ports, and major land crossings.

Cameroon has taken strict measures and closed all borders with Nigeria.

So far the virus has killed almost 1,200 people.
