A Christian TV program broadcast in the Bengali language is poised to reach 250 million people in South Asia.

"Samadhan," produced by CBN India, is designed to offer the Bengali people answers to the everyday problems they face, people like Rumpa.

Surfing through TV channels one Sunday morning, a song caught Rumpa's attention. It was on an Indian version of "The 700 Club."

"The song talked about Jesus Christ, and it was very comforting," Rumpa said.

As Rumpa continued to watch the program, she saw people being healed after praying to Jesus. She wondered if Jesus could do the same for her grandmother, who had been suffering from severe arthritis for 30 years.

"She could not stand up on her own, and had to use a cane to walk," Rumpa said.

The following Sunday, Rumpa called the CBN India prayer center and told them about her grandmother. A few hours after they prayed, Rumpa called back with some exciting news.

"My grandmother was filled with joy. She thanked me saying, 'Because you called CBN and prayed for me, I was healed! I have no pain when I walk!'" Rumpa shared.

As Rumpa watched the CBN program week after week, her prayers for other family members' health and finances were answered. She knew for certain that Jesus is the one, true God.

"I encouraged many neighbors to watch the program and call the prayer line," she said. "And when Jesus answered their prayers, they shared the news with their relatives and encouraged them to go to church with them.

Because people watched the CBN program and called the CBN prayer line, church attendance in Rumpa's village quadrupled.

"We know that people living in sin can be saved. But they can only get peace if they come to Jesus," Rumpa said. "And for that reason, we believe he is our master."
