In the end it won't matter if you have a few scars, but it will matter if you didn't live.

Those were words spoken by famed Christian song artist Rich Mullins. And those words are also being brought back to life through a little-known movie called "Ragamuffin: The True Story of Rich Mullins."

Mullins, 41, was killed in 1997 in a car accident on his way to a benefit concert. News of his death shocked many and sent ripples through the Christian music industry.

David Mullins spoke with CBN News Reporter Mark Martin about his brother's life, his struggle with sin and weakness, and how God's love helped him through it all. Click play to watch.

Nearly 20 years after his death, Mullins' life and music is still making an impact.

Although he wrote volumes of songs, covered by Christian music artists like Amy Grant, he is perhaps best known for "Awesome God" and "Sometimes by Step."

The movie "Ragamuffin" is now available on DVD and Blu-ray exclusively at Walmart.

"Ragamuffin is a beautiful and moving film that captures one man's struggle to overcome the trappings of success and to learn how to accept the unconditional love of God," James Bryan Smith, author of Rich Mullins: An Arrow Pointing to Heaven, wrote.

"It is honest, accurate, and unafraid to show Rich's scars, yet pointing us all to the deeper truth even if our hearts condemn us, God is greater than our hearts," he continued.

Mullins was inducted into the Gospel Hall of Fame posthumously, April 29. His younger brother David Mullins accepted the honor on behalf of his family.
