Growing Evidence Shows Westerners Joining Jihad
More proof that Westerners are joining the jihad is surfacing.
On Tuesday, French President Francois Hollande said a second French citizen appears in a video showing the beheading of American aid worker Peter Kassig. The role of the two Frenchmen has not yet been verified.
Also, a Virginia woman is now facing charges for lying to federal authorities about her involvement with the Islamic State.
Heather Elizabeth Coffman, 29, who was busted in an FBI sting operation, appeared in court on Monday.
The FBI's affidavit says she used social media to help an undercover agent get a friend into Syria to join ISIS.
She's "suspected of conspiring and attempting to provide material support to the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS), a foreign terrorist organization," the FBI's affidavit states.
According to the affidavit, Coffman affirmed her affiliation with the terror group in a June 23 post on her Facebook page, which read, "We are all ISIS, Islamic State of Iraq & Sham."
Meanwhile, a U.S.-led airstrike targeted a Syrian town controlled by al Qaeda. According to local coordination committees, the airstrike hit the town of Harem.
