Thousands of Canadians gathered Tuesday to honor Cpl. Nathan Cirillo, the 24-year-old honor guard shot dead during last week's terror attack in Ottawa.

The Oct. 22 incident followed on the heels another terror attack in which an ISIS-inspired terrorist ran over two soldiers in a parking lot in Quebec, killing one and injuring the other before being shot to death by police.

Now, in an open letter to Canadians, award-winning Muslim journalist Raheel Raza suggests the attacks should serve as a wake-up call to Canada and the West.

"Canada is under attack," she wrote. "Since 9/11 and perhaps even before that, some of us Muslims have been insisting that Canada is not safe from terrorist attacks and that it's just a matter of time."

"Today we have two clear options," she continued. "We can either continue to believe in the handbook titled 'Radicalization for Dummies' and act vague and politically correct on clear indications of where the problem originates from, or we can take immediate action as Canadians; otherwise, rest assured the rabid ideology behind acts of blatant terrorism will only grow."

What is an appropriate response to the recent wave of lone-wolf terrorist attacks in the West? Raza, who is president of the Council for Muslims Facing Tomorrow, spoke with CBN News about this and more.
