ISIS is celebrating the month-long Ramadan holiday by giving away child sex slaves as "prizes" for a Koran memorization contest.

The Clarion Project reports that in honor of Islam's holiest month, the Islamic State launched the contest throughout Syria's al-Barakah province, starting Saturday, June 21, and continuing through June 27.

On a Twitter announcement, ISIS invites participants to memorize some of the most warlike passages in the Koran.

First, second, and third place winners will be awarded a girl slave, while fourth through tenth place will receive monetary prizes.

ISIS has been kidnapping women from Christian and other religious communities in the region.

ISIS proclaimed a caliphate on the first day of Ramadan last year. It's also celebrated as a special month for jihad ("holy" war).

Meanwhile, President Barack Obama celebrated Ramadan with an Iftar dinner in the East Room of the White House Monday evening.

"The Koran teaches that God's children should tread gently upon the earth and, when confronted by ignorance, reply 'peace,'" the president told his guests.

"In honoring these familiar values together -- of peace and charity and forgiveness -- we affirm that, whatever our faith, we're all one family," he said.
