Islamic State terrorists are stealing tens of millions of dollars from the Iraqi government.

The Wall Street Journal reports ISIS is taking the money from salaries of Iraqi officials in occupied cities like Mosul.

Even though ISIS is using the money to wage jihad, the Iraqi government continues to send the paychecks hoping to maintain the support of their officials in Mosul ahead of the Iraqi army invasion.

U.S. advisers are currently helping Iraqi forces plan for an invasion to retake that city.

The United States gives the Iraqi government hundreds of millions of dollars each year, but it's unknown if any of that money has been stolen by ISIS.
