A whopping 367 out of 435 members of the House of Representatives co-signed a letter to President Barack Obama saying any deal with Iran will have to close the path to a nuclear bomb.

Only then will Congress consider lifting economic sanctions on Iran, The Hill reports.

The Iranians want economic sanctions lifted immediately, something the United States and European Union have yet to do.

Many analysts question whether Iran is sincere about a deal that would curb its nuclear program. At a weekend rally, Iranian protesters chanted "Death to America," as they listened to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

"Of course, yes, death to America," Khamenei agreed in a speech marking Nowruz, the Islamic Republic of Iran's New Year festival.

Khamenei criticized the United States for imposing sanctions on Iran.
