The Conservative Party has won a resounding reelection victory in Great Britain, meaning Prime Minister David Cameron will remain in charge of the government.

Pollsters had predicted a razor thin contest with Cameron's top opponents in the liberal Labour Party.

But the Conservatives won an absolute majority in the Parliamentary elections, taking 326 of the possible 650 seats up for grabs in the House of Commons.  That means they can form a new government without having to form a coalition with another party.

Britain's economy, recovering after years of turmoil that followed the 2008 financial crisis, was at the core of many voters' concerns.

Cameron has fought to balance the budget and restore financial stability to Britain by making welfare cuts.

The vote also has big implications for Britain's role in the European Union since Cameron has promised to let voters decide if they want to keep Britain in the European Union.
