At least 17 Iraqi military troops are dead following multiple suicide attacks.

The series of bombings were carried out late Tuesday night by Islamic State terrorists in the western Anbar province just outside the ISIS-held city of Fallujah.

A military spokesman said the jihadist army took advantage of a sandstorm to launch the deadly wave of bombings.

They were launched mere hours after the Iraqi government announced a wide-scale push to recapture areas in Western Anbar that are under the control of the Islamic State.
