The Islamic State announced it will be executing 180 Assyrian Christians after negotiators failed to pay the terror group's ransom.

ARA News reported on Monday that ISIS is asking for $12 million for the release of the hostages, kidnapped during mass raids back in February.

According to Osama Edward, the director of the Assyrian Human Rights Network, the demands from ISIS are "unbearable" for the community to meet.

The 180 Assyrians are part of a group of 230 people kidnapped by ISIS back in February from villages in the Khabur river valley in Syria.

According to The Christian Post, the terror group, which has been persecuting Christians and other religions minorities across Iraq and Syria, has released small groups of hostages it kidnapped from Khabur, but it's still holding the vast majority of people it took captive.

Diana Yaqco, spokesperson for the persecution watchdog group, A Demand for Action, is pleading with the international community to intervene.

"We have been driven out of our ancestral lands. We have been killed and crucified. The international community must act now to save lives of others kidnapped," she said.
