The European Union is struggling to keep up with the overflow of migrants reaching its borders.

Greece's coast guard says it has rescued mre than 750 migrants in a 24-hour period.

The Greek coast has become one of the most popular points of entry into the EU.

Hundreds of migrants take boats from the nearby Turkish coast every day. More than 200,000 people have reached Greece so far this year, but many have also drowned.

Among the casualties was a 3-year old boy whose picture made headlines around the world this week.
    
His aunt in Canada had tried to sponsor him and his brother, but the Canadian government rejected the request.
