Chaplains trained to help in times of crisis have been deployed to Brussels.

Following the deadly terrorist attacks last week, chaplains with the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team are in Belgium's capital city, providing emotional and spiritual support.

BGEA chaplains are on the ground in Brussels, ministering to a city on edge in the wake of deadly terrorist bombings. Chaplain Jeff Naber spoke to CBN News about what they are doing. Click play to watch.

Chaplain Jeff Naber ministered to a man named Jorge from Spain.

"One thing leads to another, and we start talking about God," Naber told the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. "He said, 'I don't know if you need to know Jesus in order to have eternal life.' I explained the Gospel message using the Steps to Peace and he accepted Christ about an hour ago."

Naber is one of nearly a dozen RRT chaplains sharing the love of Jesus Christ in Brussels. The chaplains represent teams in Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Naber described the people they meet as a little cautious, especially if God's name is mentioned. However, in spite of that guarded nature, the chaplains say they've witnessed the hand of God while praying with several people and reaching out to churches in the area.

It's been a week since the terrorist bombings at the airport and metro station killed at least 35 people and injured hundreds of others.

Naber said residents in Brussels told him there's an overwhelming belief that something else is in the works. A strong police and military presence is in the capital, and safety precautions are being implemented.

Belgium Armed Forces are monitoring the area. Naber had the opportunity to pray with soldiers as well.

"No one expects things to just go away now," Naber said. "Everyone expects something to happen soon, within days even. I hope that doesn't happen. Everybody says they hope that doesn't happen."

"There's a lot of strife, but if you look at you'll see where Jesus says, 'In this world, you're going to be faced with trials and troubles, but take heart because I have overcome the world.' And that's our message," he continued.

The BGEA is asking that you "pray for healing in Brussels and that people there would not only be receptive to hearing the Good News but ultimately would invite Jesus into their hearts."
