CBN.com –
Belinda Elliott is a Senior Internet Producer for CBN.com,
the Web site of the Christian Broadcasting Network. In this role,
she manages the Family and Entertainment sections of CBN.com.
As a producer for these sections she enjoys the opportunity to
write about a variety of topics including relationships, marriage,
health, books, music, and movies.
Originally from Goodview, Va., near Roanoke, Belinda earned a
Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies from Gardner-Webb
University, in Boiling Springs, N.C., where she graduated as the
valedictorian of her class. Following her graduation, she took
a job as staff writer at a weekly newspaper, The Smith Mountain
Eagle, in Moneta, Va., where she wrote feature stories, news
stories, and reported on community events around the beautiful
Smith Mountain Lake area.
After nearly three years with the Eagle she accepted
a job at The Roanoke Times, but she soon found that the
Lord had other plans for her. After much prayer and consideration,
she answered the Lord's call for her to attend graduate school
at Regent University, and she packed her bags for Virginia Beach.
In May, 2003 she graduated from Regent with a master's degree
in Journalism. Shortly before her graduation she began her career
at CBN.
Writing has been Belinda's passion since age 10 when she began
writing poetry for family members and church programs. Her articles
have been published in several magazines including Church
Libraries, The Christian Communicator, Advanced
Christian Writer, and The Secret Place.
She has also won several awards for her writing including a first-place
award from the Virginia Press Association for a series of feature
articles she wrote while working at The Smith Mountain Eagle,
a first-place award for a short story published in The Writer's
Journal, and a second-place award for a short story submitted
to a local writing contest.
In addition to writing for CBN.com, she also currently writes
devotions for Pathways to God magazine.
In September 2004 Belinda married the love of her life, Matt,
after a nine-year friendship that started in college. She
and her husband are actively involved in their church and enjoy
spending time with friends and family, reading, and cuddling on
their couch for movie nights.
