CBN.comWEST MIDDLETOWN, Pa. -- C Me Dance, the first film produced by Uplifting Entertainment, a new faith- based company near Pittsburgh, will premier in theaters on April 3, after being endorsed by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the Dove Foundation for excellence in filmmaking.

C Me Dance tells the story of a teenage girl named "Sheri," played by new actress Christina DeMarco, who has trained her entire life to dance for the Pittsburgh Ballet. As her dream comes true, she finds out she is dying from a rare blood disease.

Through the illness, God uses Sheri to bring people to Christ, but the Devil tries to intervene. Sheri and her father Vince, played by veteran actor, writer, and producer Greg Robbins, are sent on a spiritual adventure to bring revival to America.

The movie has compiled a soundtrack with recording artists such as Lincoln Brewster, Eowyn, Stephanie Fraschetti, and Terri Shamar featured.

"This heart-warming, tear-generating thriller will keep audiences on the edge of their seats and touch everyone, giving us a rejuvenated love for Christ and a deeper passion for life," Robbins said.

C Me Dance is a wonderful and intense movie that needs to be seen," said Don Wildmon, founder of the American Family Association.

The Dove Foundation calls it "a thrill ride with tender emotions all the way."

In conjunction with the film release, Uplifting Entertainment is sponsoring an essay contest for middle- and high school-level students. Gift cards in the amount of $200 will be awarded to the top 20 winners - 10 from each of two categories. There will be two grand prizewinners - one from each of the two categories.

Each of the two grand prize winners will receive $2,000 to be awarded to their chosen private or public organization. $5,000 will be donated to the Leukemia Foundation on the student's behalf. Both grand-prize winners also will receive a certificate from the Leukemia Foundation. In addition, a Dove Foundation Recognition trophy will be awarded to the student by the star of "C Me Dance," Christina DeMarco.
