Safety on the Internet

If you’re getting e-mails you don’t want or someone harassing you, follow these simple step to protect yourself.

• Contact the harasser’s Internet Service Provider (Yahoo, AOL, Hotmail, etc.) and report it.
• Block any other e-mails using the filters in your e-mail account.
• If it continues in a chat room or via instant message, go offline immediately and change your online identity.

NEVER share identifying information about yourself.

• No names, phone numbers, addresses, place of work, etc., with online dating or Myspace.
• Avoid mentioning any landmarks, office buildings, restaurants, etc., in messages.
