A Personal Letter from Terry Meeuwsen -

Hello Everyone,

Orphan's Promise has been up and running officially since Operation Blessing made the announcement last December that launched the organization. God has astonished us with His provision and the many doors He has opened for us. I wanted to share the list of countries and the work that has been started over the last year.

All Over the World

EUROPE

Ukraine is our largest outreach because that is where we started and so we have had more time to develop things there. In Ukraine, we have two full-time centers teaching and ministering to the older orphaned and vulnerable children.

Also, we have three satellite centers doing the same work around Kiev and two satellite centers at government tech schools in the Berdyansk area. We’ve also started a transition house for kids who have aged out in Donetsk and we work at orphanages in Kherson, Drohobych, Berdyansk, Petrivsti, Donetsk, Hrogatin, Guliapole, Radomyshl, as well as two baby homes outside of Kiev.

Of course, we also are working with orphanages across the country providing humanitarian aid throughout the year. There are 300 in all. In addition, we under girded the cost of the Concert Department and the Gift of Adoption Department. Both of these are part of Mission Emmanuel, our WorldReach Center in Kiev, and are impacting the plight of orphans in Ukraine.

Orphan’s Promise is helping to build a transition home for older orphans and is working hand in hand with a church in Moldova. Sex trafficking in this area is a big problem.

In Sicily, Italy, we are working in a Catholic orphanage and in the process of providing a van for them.

ASIA

In India, we are in orphanages in Modrapradesh and two in Visakhapatnam. We are working on providing a home for the children of prostitutes in Calcutta.

In Thailand, we are supporting two orphanages in Chiang Mai.

In the Philippines, we are under girding an orphanage in Baguio and reaching out to the children who come from families who live at a dump.

In Cambodia, we assist an orphanage in the Pursat Province.

We just purchased land in Myanmar (Burma) to build an orphanage for children who have been orphaned and abandoned because of genocide.

We have three training centers for orphans and vulnerable children in Kazakhstan and two more will open in the next six months.

LATIN AMERICA

In El Salvador, we recently completed a home for girls who have aged out of the orphanage system in that country. It’s called Hope House. We partnered with Orphan Helpers, an orphan outreach based in Virginia.

AFRICA

We are helping to build an orphanage in Mali, Africa, in the city of Bamako.

In Somaliland, we finished installing a water system in an orphanage there. More than 300 kids were living with no running water and one hole in the ground for a toilet. We hope to renovate their pathetic living quarters soon.

In Sudan, we support the work of a Sudanese woman who is working with children who have been orphaned by genocide and AIDS.

We are praying that this year will provide the opportunity to go into Russia, the Baja, Tajikistan, Lithuania, Siberia, China, and Tanzania.

We do not take God's provision for granted, nor do we take your interest and help for granted. Many of you have contributed to making this work possible. I wrote this letter so you could hear how God has used you to make a difference.

I looked at this list of projects and realized that it is a prime example of what we are talking about – together, we can do it. Together we can make it happen!
