Volunteers = Happy Kids

A message from Ronda Krause, our co-worker at the MICS house in Zambia reminds us once again, of the important role that volunteers play in helping orphans and needy children. Terry

Ronda writes:

The Canadian team of volunteers comprised of: Alyssa, Dallas, Krista and Sarah arrived ready to hit the ground running only to find out our school was closed temporarily due to a measles outbreak in all of Zambia. After biding their time for a few more days, school finally opened and our volunteers helped to get things up and running at full speed. From "Fabulous Fridays" where the MICS students learned about turtles, bears, careers, circus, and theater, to "Thrilling Thursdays" in boarding, to the Activity Room and library, to piano lessons, to sports, great songs, classroom participation, to creative skits, and most important of all just plain loving the kids and making them feel special and unique, each of them participated fully!!!

The MICS students will be sad to see Alyssa, Dallas, Krista, and Sarah leave!!!!

They will however forever carry in their hearts the knowledge, generosity, love, humor, and caring the team gifted each and everyone at MICS with.

Thanks Ladies!!!

MICS Loves You!!!!

Terry – and thanks to you Ronda and Gil who work tirelessly at the MICS school and orphanage to help the children of Zambia.
