What could be better than helping orphans and children in distress? Helping to prevent this from happening – being “Proactive” instead of “Reactive”; this is what our “Keeping Families Together” (KFT) program is all about.

This is what’s happening in Thailand. Orphan’s Promise is working with a local agency and getting the local churches involved in helping to care for their own orphan’s, widows and families at risk fulfilling God’s commandment and empowering them all in realizing the fullness of God’s love in doing so.

The program works to strengthen families on many different levels:

• Micro-enterprise iniatives
• Parenting and finance classes
• Access to counseling and social workers
• Education for children
• Medical check ups and nutritional counseling
• Pre-discipleship and follow up through local churches
• Providing Family Fun days to encourage a more balanced life

In some cases, you must give a man a fish so he can eat and not starve, but even better when you can teach him to fish!
