Mongolia Update

I wanted to let you know the amazing after effects of our very own Stacy’s trip to Mongolia. She had shared while there, but after the trip home and getting through the holidays, she wanted to let you know more about all the things they were able to accomplish for the children at “her” orphanage in Mongolia.

Stacy writes -
The last 2 weeks I have been flooded with emails and pictures of the 500+ children we were able to bless while in Mongolia. We sowed into several on-going projects and we continue to see lives changed, hope restored, families reunited and many smiles put on sweet faces. I wanted to share a few of these reports with you.

1) These photos are of some smiling faces at the Children’s Place orphanage in their new winter boots, hats and coats purchased by sponsors and transported/distributed with Orphan’s Promise donations. We also blessed three other orphanages with these items as well. Winter gear is a big deal when you walk to school in -40 degree weather!!

2) We also visited the Children’s Place orphanage where OP sponsored a medicalclinic. These vulnerable children have received little to no medical care ever. We gave $160 for medical supplies and 85 children were seen by volunteer pediatricians and specialists. Several children with heart issues and other serious conditions will now get the help they need.

3) During my trip I told the story of a little, eight-year old boy I saw tied to a radiator last year. We took action to give him and five other boys with Cerebral Palsy some hope. A carpenter was hired to build them special, mobile chairs so they can get around and be upright. All of them were casted and they will begin therapy and should be walking with crutches before long. The orphanage workers now see that there is hope for them and are investing more time in them. This equipment was built for a little over $200.

4) There is also the report from one of our workers of two brothers with muscular dystrophy who live near our center. “It's a terrible situation as both boys are very skinny and fragile. The father works in a tire repair shop and does not make enough to care for the special needs these children have. We took them some food and coal right away as their hut was freezing cold, and will make some special equipment so the older boy does not get pressure sores from laying on his mat. We will use some of the money you gave to continue to help this family take care of their boys!”

These are just a few of the reports and it excites me to see the impact OP has made and all that God is doing!! Thanks for allowing me to represent Orphan’s Promise and to be His hands and feet on the ground there.

Terry –
Thank you, Stacy for your heart for these dear children in Mongolia. It really takes so little to accomplish so much in areas like this. Thank you, Orphan’s Promise Family for helping to make it happen!
