The Haitian Devastation

Haiti injured woman

I’m sure you’re inundated with all the recent, horrifying images and stories that have dominated the news in the past few weeks. The horror that has befallen the Haitian people is beyond comprehension.

Orphan’s Promise has been working with four different groups who’re on the ground in Haiti, including Northwest Haiti Mission Group which has been serving the poor for over 30 years.

We had just embarked on a project called Miriam’s House a few weeks before the earthquake hit. It was designed to house and help orphaned and disabled children. Being an orphan in Haiti is bad enough, but when you’re disabled as well, your future is without hope.

The recent quake has determined that all money designated for Haiti will go toward their most pressing needs including: water, food, medicine and shelter.

Please help us to help those who’re on the ground in Haiti, trying desperately to meet the needs of these poorest of the poor. The orphan count is going to go through the roof with recent estimated deaths soaring into the 200,000 range. Resources are few in the best of times, now they are decimated.

Please help now; a little, a lot, whatever you can give will help. And please, pray for the Haitian people.
