An Update From The Field

I wanted to give you an update on what Orphan’s Promise has been able to accomplish since the earthquake.

We have been working in conjunction with several ministries who have an excellent and established on-going work there. We have been able to supply desperately needed food and medicine directly to the towns of Croix des Bouquets, La Digue, and Port de Paix. All of which house orphans and needy children.

We have also been collecting tents to help supply housing that was destroyed so children can be safe during the coming rainy season. Rebuilding will be needed as well, but right now, the urgent need is for temporary shelter.

We continue to fundraise for the proposed center to help handicapped children in Port de Paix which is in conjunction with our friends at NHCM. They have already purchased some of the land and through Orphans Promise they will be matching funding up to $50,000 to raise a total of $100,000+ to build this orphange. The need in Haiti for children with speical needs has increased due to the earthquake, so the Lords timing for this project is perfect, as always. This is scheduled to begin in June, thanks in great part to the efforts of one of our staunchest supporters, Christian and Colleen Bunse. Their tireless efforts on behalf of Orphan’s Promise to raise funds for this center, by involving their church, has resulted in amazing support. We will continue to keep you updated on the work in Haiti.
