How much I appreciate each and every one of you who has prayed for, and given to Orphan’s
Promise. A special gift was sent to us from Diane White in the form of a poem. Diane has a
heart for orphans and I wanted to share this with you:
Heart of the Orphan
I have the smallest voice in the land,
Yet I use it to cry out, “Here I am”
How I look both day and night,
In search of arms to hold me tight
I long to be called by the name that God gave me,
By the family He meant for me
To see the ones who will come for me
To lift me up and hold me
How I long for a home
And a family I can call my own
He put gifts and talents in me
I hope I have the chance to develop and use them to shape history
I long to be loved like anyone else
Yet day after day I wait by myself
Some around me have died so young
Their hearts were broken and now they are gone
Some were born with misshapen parts
But look some families have come and opened their hearts
Look they are going home with them
Thank you God for caring for them
As you look around and wonder, what can I do
In your quiet time God will speak to you
Opportunities to change lives abound
Listen to your heart and don’t turn Him down
Hope fills my heart as I wait in great big hands
Of the One who loves me and knows just where I am
